Corporate & Commercial
Sherice Arman is a Partner and member of the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group. Her practice areas include banking and asset finance, corporate finance, syndicated loans, project finance, property finance, general aspects of banking and finance law, capital markets, bond issues and general corporate law. She specialises in Islamic financing structures; ship and aircraft financing, leasing and registration; mergers and acquisitions; corporate restructuring and joint ventures.
Sherice also advises on licensing and regulatory issues relating to service providers in the Cayman Islands, the scope of which includes mutual fund administrator licences, securities investment business licences and exemptions, banking licences and insurance licences.
In the most recent edition of PLC Which Lawyer?, Sherice was listed as a recognised lawyer in their Corporate/M&A research and noted that she is “active in a broad array of corporate and commercial advisory work”. Legal 500 has also recognised her as a leader in her field.

Prior to joining the firm Sherice practised at a law firm in the British Virgin Islands. She is a member of the Cayman Islands Law Society, the British Virgin Islands Bar Association, and the Trinidad and Tobago Bar Association.
Representative Work
• Acting for HDG Mansur Investment Services Limited on the acquisition of Pinehurst Park, Farnborough on behalf of a fund it manages. The structuring and financing of the acquisition was done on a Shari'ah-compliant basis.
• Representing the Fulcrum Group in the Cayman Islands, in the merger of Butterfield Fund Services (Cayman) Limited and the Fulcrum Group. The combined group, known as the Butterfield Fulcrum Group, now ranks amongst the top ten independent, alternative asset fund administrators globally.
• Acting for Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd. and its subsidiaries, Nico Middle East Ltd. and BUE Marine Limited in the acquisition, financing and registration of their many vessels. Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd. is one of the leading marine and oil and gas fabrication companies in the Middle East.
• Advising AEI on the restructuring of a number of energy projects acquired from Enron in its Chapter 11 proceedings including reorganisation of a number of joint venture vehicles.
• Acting for Enbridge Inc. in the sale to Ecopetrol of all of its shares in Oledoducto Central S.A. (Ocensa) which owns and operates the most important oil transport system in Colombia. The Ocensa pipeline starts onshore at the Cusiana and Cupiagua fields, has a capacity to transport up to 650 thousand barrels of oil per day, a length of 829 kilometers, five pumping stations and an export port in Covenas (which is on the Colombian Caribbean Coast).
